Young completes Middlesbrough move

Middlesbrough - Gareth SouthgateMiddlesbrough have completed the signing of Luke Young from Charlton Athletic in a £2.5million deal.

The England international passed a medical and has signed a four-year deal at the Riverside Stadium.

Young, a former Charlton captain made over 200 appearances for the Addicks after moving from Tottenham Hotspur in 2001 for £4million.

Expect further news on this when a press conference is held on Friday.

    Very solid defending but not outstanding going forward,but this part of his game has improved.Had a few injury probs lately with suspect knee and will give 100%.All in all,a good buy for you.

    Top player, always puts in 100% and tends to stay on his feet when other players might dive in and be taken out of the game.

    Looks good going forward but his final ball can prove to be his only real flaw

    Buzzing with Luke Young, hopefully he will be playing saturday, was fab 2day in training, hopefully his best is yet to come

    As poor as Jason Euell was a signing for you, Luke Young will be good. As long as he avoids injury he’ll do you proud. Look froward to seeing him again in 2008 / 2009.
