Jan Koller attracting Premiership interest

Jan KollerCzech Republic striker Jan Koller is said to be attracting the interest of three Premiership clubs.

The striker is currently playing for Monaco and is considering his future at the club after it’s unlikely the giant forward will be first choice at the Stade Louis this season.

This news is said to have alerted Birmingham, Middlesbrough and Reading who are all reported to be considering making an offer for the 34-year-old.

No Portsmouth return for Yakubu

Portsmouth - Harry RedknappHarry Redknapp has denied reports that he has made a bid to bring Yakubu back to Portsmouth.

The Middlesbrough striker has been linked with a host of clubs including Birmingham City, and although Redknapp is still a fan of the powerful Nigerian, he has not made an approach.

“I like Yak, I signed him the first time round at Portsmouth and he was a good player for me,” Redknapp told Sky Sports News.

Alan Smith completes Newcastle move

Man Utd - Alan SmithAlan Smith has joined Newcastle United on a five year deal.

The England international moves to St James’ Park from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee, which is said to be in the region of £6milliom.

Middlesbrough were also keen on Smith, but he opted to move to the bigger club in Newcastle in order to gain regular first-team football.

Young completes Middlesbrough move

Middlesbrough - Gareth SouthgateMiddlesbrough have completed the signing of Luke Young from Charlton Athletic in a £2.5million deal.

The England international passed a medical and has signed a four-year deal at the Riverside Stadium.

Young, a former Charlton captain made over 200 appearances for the Addicks after moving from Tottenham Hotspur in 2001 for £4million.
